Dr. Michelle Louis is the founder of The Leading Mind, LLC which is dedicated to merging positive psychology and applied leadership practice. She is an executive coach, consultant, and speaker who specializes in translating concepts from psychology into practical strategies for developing leaders holistically and helping organizations thrive. Dr. Louis has spent 20 years in faculty roles in higher education, most recently as Associate Professor of Doctoral Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University. She has served as Associate Editor for The Journal of Positive Psychology, and was trained by Dr. Brené Brown as a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator to equip leaders and teams with empirically-based courage-building skills. She is co-editor of a volume entitled Thriving in Transitions (now in its second edition), and received a national award for her leadership in advancing strengths-based education. Dr. Louis draws from her training as a therapist and leadership coach and from her research to create interactive learning experiences on topics such as emotional intelligence and agility, strengths development, courage, creativity, adaptive leadership, engagement, and psychological safety. She lives in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area with her husband and two children. In her free time, she serves as a women’s running coach, a board member/elder in her church, and as a member of a local group that works to advance racial justice.
