Highlight

Linda has served over 25 years in the field of aging in a variety of roles including staff nurse, director of nursing, corporate education, leadership, clinical consultant, and quality improvement. She worked five years at HCMC in surgical trauma but left to return back to her true love of senior care. She currently travels the country speaking on the topic of leadership and facilitating leadership programs for senior care providers and non-profits. She developed her DNP project into a leadership platform known as SurTHRIVELeadership. Her leadership program can be found online and is viewed annually by thousands of learners at all levels of healthcare organizations. She completed both her BSN and Masters at Bethel and attended the U of M for DNP. She loves engaging with the students at Bethel through her teaching role.

Biography

Linda M. Shell DNP, MA, BSN,RN, DNS-CT is a nurse, educator, and professional speaker whose held a variety of clinical and academic positions over her 25 year nursing career in aging services. She also worked five years at HCMC in surgical-trauma. She is Chief Learning Officer of lindashell.com and travels nationally speaking on the topic of leadership and facilitating leadership conferences and workshops for healthcare providers. She has taught at Bethel for over 10 years and is a teaching partner in the RN-BSN, post bacc and Senior Care programs.

Linda serves as the President of the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nurses Foundation Board. She is passionate about improving the lives of elders and developing leaders. In her spare time, she loves to spend time walking, dancing, gardening, decorating, researching interesting topics and playing golf with her husband and friends. She has three children and nine grandsons. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.
