Prior Learning Credit
Adult Undergrad Adult Undergraduate Academics Ways to Earn Credit
Academics
Returning to school as an adult is a big deal. We’re here to help you get started and make the back-to-school process as quick and easy on you as possible.
One of the major ways we help is by making sure you get the credits you deserve, saving you time and money.
We can help check out your prior:
- College classes
- Prior Learning Assessments (PLAs)
- Professional training
- Military training
- Scores on AP, UExcel/ECE, and IB exams
Your prior experience, training, academic work, and PLAs—credits earned outside the classroom, often through exams like DSST or CLEP—could provide you with credits that you can apply to your adult undergraduate program, bringing you that much closer to earning your degree.
You can also earn credits by taking certain standardized exams that cover various academic subjects.
- We offer DSST (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests) online several times a month. There are DSST examinations for more than 30 academic subjects and a passing grade earns you three credits.
- In addition, you can take CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) exams at one of the many testing sites around the Twin Cities area and nationwide. There are more than 30 CLEP exams available, and scores are valid for 20 years.
We’re committed to working with you to evaluate the number of credits you could qualify for and to direct you toward the exams that could help you earn even more credits.
Going back to school doesn’t have to be a hard process. Request more information today, and we’ll help you get started.
