Nearly 140 golfers showed their support of Bethel students and the Royal Athletic Fund on June 18 at the championship North Oaks Golf Course in North Oaks, Minn., for the 18th annual Bethel Golf Classic. Investors, alumni, and friends enjoyed nature, golf, fellowship, prizes, dinner, and a brief program.
President Jay Barnes welcomed the group during the program. Steve Johnson, head football coach, gave a preview of the 2012-2013 football season; Brian Raabe, baseball coach, shared how his first season at Bethel impacted him as a coach and a person; and Bob Bjorklund, athletics director, interviewed baseball player Matt Rowley ’13, who recently captured two prestigious honors: MIAC Player of the Year (the first in Bethel baseball’s history), and selection to the ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All American.
Senior Vice President for University Relations Pat Mazorol said, “This gathering is a tradition that many Bethel families look forward to each year. We are grateful for the participation of so many Bethel investors who support Bethel and its mission and values.”
