Bethel Seminary Tuition to Decrease

Bethel Seminary is pleased to announce a tuition reset. Tuition for master’s degree programs for the 2015-16 academic year will be $495 per credit hour, which represents about a 12% decrease in per credit hour price for full-time seminary students compared to 2014-2015. This new tuition rate goes into effect with the fall semester 2015.

“We are lowering our tuition because we are committed to making Bethel Seminary more affordable for everyone,” says David Clark, vice president and dean of Bethel Seminary. Clark and other university leaders hope this change will allow students to better anticipate the costs associated with seminary education.

The financial aid practices for Bethel Seminary will also be redesigned. Gift aid funded by generous donors and other forms of financial aid, such as loans, will remain available. However, a portion of the available gift aid will be repurposed in order to reduce tuition for all students.

The change in financial aid practices will affect students who have started programs and continue in them next year. However, all current students will see the same or lower overall costs in the future. Arrangements will be made on an individual basis to assure that no current, full-time (15 credits each year) master’s degree student who stays continuously enrolled at Bethel Seminary will pay more under this new tuition and financial aid model. The Office of Financial Aid will explain to current students receiving financial aid more details of their financial aid package for the next academic year.

Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) students will see no change in their tuition rate for next year. The 2015-2016 rate will remain at $355 per credit hour for self-directed D. Min. students and at $550 per credit hour for cohort D. Min. students.

For other adult degree programs at Bethel University, the most up-to-date tuition rates can be found on the College of Adult & Professional Studies and Graduate School financial aid websites. Tuition rates for the 2015-16 academic year for the College of Arts & Sciences were announced earlier this week.
