Bethel Students Featured in Local News

Earlier this month, the Quad Community Press in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, published a profile article on journalism student Jared Nelson ’16.  They highlighted his journalism career from its beginnings in writing for his high school newspaper to his current position as editor-in-chief of the Bethel student publication the Clarion, plus his summer internships in between. Nelson worked for the St. Paul Pioneer Press covering sports one summer and interned with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx the next summer.

Jolene Rotich ’17 sat down with Pete Rhodes from WCCO’s “Urban Perspectives” to answer questions about her studies at Bethel in international relations, business, and political science as well as her experience with Model United Nations, which is a simulation of the UN General Assembly to teach students about diplomacy. Rotich also serves as a youth board member of Youthprise, a nonprofit intermediary that invests in the future of Minnesota by investing in youth.
