Mikayla Holmgren ’18, a first-year student in the Bethel University Inclusive Learning and Development (BUILD) program, has been receiving a lot of media attention lately. Holmgren will make history by becoming the first woman with Down syndrome to compete in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant—which is also a first for the Miss USA pageant in any state.
