Find friendships that will last a lifetime.

Peer mentors are part of Bethel's supportive community. They work alongside students in BUILD to provide social support, model life skills, and offer guidance with schoolwork.

Mentor descriptions

Assistant Residential Supervisor (ARS): The Assistant Residential Supervisor (ARS) is a 20 hour per week position approximately. The ARS lives and works in a hall where students in BUILD also live.  The Assistant Residential Supervisor assists the BUILD Residential Supervisor (BRS) with housing mentor training, answering the BUILD On-Call phone, events, and some student follow-up.

Housing mentors: Housing mentors live near students in the BUILD program in the same residence hall. Mentors help students develop life skills that will transition them to living independently. This includes self-care, home management (laundry, cleaning, etc.), weekly meal planning and preparation, and social/community participation.

Student academic mentors: Student academic mentors help students in BUILD with homework and study skills throughout the week from their core courses and electives and as part of various clubs, athletic teams, and more.

Job mentors: Job mentors help coach and support students in the BUILD program during their internships and with career exploration activities as part of independent study.

Students in the BUILD program will have a unique opportunity to become a social mentor in their second year of the program, when they'll support a first-year BUILD student as they transition to college life during Welcome Week.
