Learning that fits your life. In Bethel’s B.A. in Special Education program, you’ll become a skilled professional ready to serve in a high-demand profession. You’ll learn to customize learning experiences and use evidence-based practices to meet individual needs and serve students with compassion in a variety of roles. This program will build your knowledge base and refine your skills to assess, educate, and serve students with mild and moderate disabilities. After building a solid, foundational base through your bachelor's degree in special education, you'll be able to add additional licenses to serve students in several disability categories. Bethel offers stackable licenses in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD).

Classroom Experience


You’ll work with experienced mentors and complete 120 hours of field experience and 12 weeks of student teaching. These experienced mentors will help you synthesize your learning into practical next steps in your education career.

Flexibility


Our program is designed for busy adult learners who work full time, have families, and are involved in their community. Courses are completed mostly online with some face-to-face Saturday sessions and begin every six weeks, allowing you to start at any time throughout the year and finish in as few as 28 to 30 months.

Christian Environment


We integrate Christian faith and strong values into ideas and practices. You'll work with a group of peers to build practical skills together, and you’ll also explore how your values influence the work you do.

Practical Experience


This online program—with occasional Saturday sessions on campus—is designed for people who want to put their classroom learning into practice immediately. B.A. in Special Education
Minnesota is facing a critical shortage of qualified special education professionals. Through this online special education undergraduate degree, you'll be able to build your credentials and gain hands-on experience. Our program is mostly online with occasional on-campus Saturday sessions. You will learn evidence-based practices to serve children with disabilities and their families, and you'll build your professional network as you pursue your career in special education teaching.
