Program highlights
Field Experiences and Student Teaching
You’ll take part in field experiences in elementary and secondary schools to observe current education practices and confirm that education is the right career choice for you. Then you will student teach for several months alongside a school’s teacher and a Bethel supervisor. Their coaching will help you apply coursework and theory in a classroom and move you closer to being qualified to teach in your own classroom upon program completion.
Flexibility
Our programs are completed in a blend of online and face-to-face courses in St. Paul, Minnesota. Courses are designed for students who work full time, have families, and are involved in their community.
Two-track license options
Master’s track: Earn your teaching license as part of the M.A. in Teaching program.
Licensure-only track: Earn only the teaching license.
Cohort model
This program is offered through a cohort model where students move through their courses with the same group of peers. Most classes meet online to accommodate working adults, and we then host in-person Professional Learning Community Saturdays at Bethel’s Anderson Center.
