Bethel University's Nurse-Midwifery program thanks you and your midwifery practice for agreeing to participate in our program as a preceptor for our students. We are very grateful for the commitment you have made to educate our future nurse-midwives. At Bethel, we are deeply committed to the success of our students and you, as a preceptor, are integral to their success.
Ongoing Support
The information provided in this website/handbook is only one of the ways we hope to support you as you support our students. The links on the left side of the website page will guide you to valuable resources for our program, such as plans of study and evaluations. You may also visit the American College of Nurse-Midwives website for more information regarding preceptors.
We know that serving as a preceptor is a significant commitment of time and responsibility. We hope, as a program, that we can help to ease that burden for you by providing the following:
- A dedicated Clinical Director and Clinical Coordinator to assist with paperwork, onboarding needs, and a first-stop liaison for any student concerns.
- The ability to obtain ACNM CEUs for the time you spend as a preceptor. Please indicate your interest on the orientation forms; we will draft the letter you need to submit to AMCB to receive your CEU.
- Access to our syllabi and reading lists for the clinical courses. If preceptors wish to review these, please send an email to the clinical faculty member.
- The possibility of student research. Our students are participating in a critical review of the literature for their Master’s Project. If your practice has a clinical issue you would like to have researched, please notify either the Clinical Coordinator or Program Director. We would love to partner with you. Students will be given the opportunity to choose this research topic and present their project to you at the end of their program. Please notify the Clinical Director.
