It is important to find an internship that will provide valuable experience as you explore your career goals. Students are responsible for researching and selecting an internship experience, and students must make the necessary arrangements to complete the internship.

But here are some resources to help you find the best internship opportunities. Also, Internship Coordinator Brian Hyatt regularly sends out notices regarding announcements of internship opportunities.

Course Credit

Both Biology and Environmental Science majors have the opportunity to gain experience and course credit through an off-campus internship. Biology students can register for BIO 481, a 3 credit course that is offered spring, summer and fall terms. Environmental Science majors should register for an individual internship, ENS 481. Students in both majors must register for the internship in the term in which at least 50% of the hours are completed and have an internship approved prior to registration for credit.

To register, Environmental Science majors must complete both the Academic Learning Internship contract form and the ENS requirements form. For details on the internship policy, see this document.
