Hands-on learning is at the core of all our majors.

As you pursue a public and community health degree, you’ll have numerous opportunities to apply what you’re learning, seek mentorship from industry professionals, participate in student groups, and gain experience. It’s all part of how we equip you with skills that transfer to any career.

And you’ll be able to get involved right away. Bethel’s size and vibrant community present opportunities for you to get involved from your first day on campus. 

Internships and field experience

During your required internships, you'll gain entry into the practice of community health through working in a clinic, social work agency, non-profit organization, or other location that provides hands-on experience. Courses will also include field experiences that expose you to a variety of career opportunities.

Service learning

Service-learning opportunities through your classwork will enrich your studies, preparing you before you leave Bethel.

Study abroad

Study around the world through trips over a full semester, January session, spring break, and summer. Explore the 600+ possible locations where you can travel and serve.
