Bethel University students

Scholarships are monetary gifts that don’t have to be repaid, and they are meant to celebrate you!

You might receive a scholarship for your academic achievement, special talent, act of service, personal history, or more. Scholarships may be considered taxable income at both the state and federal level.

Nearly all incoming students receive some form of scholarship funds. Below, you can find more information about the scholarships available to incoming students for the 2025-2026 school year. If you started at Bethel in 2024-2025 or earlier, please see our aid opportunities for prior years.

  • Bethel Reserve Officers Training Corps Scholarship (ROTC): Bethel’s commitment to Air Force and Army ROTC scholarship recipients is to ensure that full tuition, fees, room, and board (for students living on campus) are covered through a combination of grants and scholarships.
  • George Floyd Scholarship: This scholarship reflects Bethel's theological and practical commitment to stand unequivocally against racism and every form of sin that destroys the image of God in humanity.
  • Legacy Scholarship: For new and transfer students whose parents or siblings attended Bethel.
  • Minnesota Aspiring Teachers of Color: This scholarship is for students with demonstrated need who belong to groups underrepresented in the state's teacher workforce.
  • Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program: A need-based scholarship for Minnesota residents who meet the American Indian ancestry requirement.

Finding external scholarships

We always recommend looking for scholarship options outside of Bethel, too. Check with your church, look around your community, and ask parents or relatives if their employers offer any scholarship opportunities. Additional information

Bethel grants and scholarships will be reduced if your total gift aid from all sources exceeds your financial aid cost of attendance budget. Bethel grants and scholarships also require a minimum of half time enrollment in courses required for graduation.

To maintain your Bethel grants and scholarships, you must remain in good academic standing and be working toward your first bachelor degree. Scholarships will be pro-rated if you are enrolled less than full time. Read our financial aid terms and conditions for details on eligibility and expectations.
