Leadership and Service

Students and a faculty member engage in discussion while seated in a circle on the grass.

Build the confidence and clarity to lead with purpose—wherever you’re called.

Leadership at Bethel starts with understanding who you are. Then we help you grow, stretch, and lead with conviction—in your career, your community, and your calling. Whether you're leading a project, a classroom, or a team, your impact begins with character, faith, and self-awareness.

Identify your leadership strengths

Every leader starts with self-awareness. At Bethel, you’ll explore your strengths, growth areas, and motivations through personalized leadership development. Reflect on what matters most and learn how to lead authentically—on campus and beyond.

You’ll ask:

  • What are my unique leadership strengths?
  • Where do I need to grow?
  • How can I lead with influence—in my relationships, career, and community?

Develop as a Leader

Once you’ve identified your strengths, you’ll be ready to lead. Through real-world practice and one-on-one coaching, you’ll learn how to apply your leadership in a variety of settings.

These experiences prepare you to speak clearly about your leadership in interviews, on résumés, and in graduate school applications.

Find opportunities to lead

Start at the Opportunity Fair right after Welcome Week. Dozens of student-led organizations will help you get involved and take the lead.

Not sure where to start? Stop by Student Life or connect with Nate Gustafson. We’ll help you match your interests and skills to meaningful leadership roles on campus.

Engage in service

True leadership begins with service. Through Campus Ministries, you’ll find opportunities to serve others and grow in humility, compassion, and purpose.
