Bethel administers tests through the DSST program, a testing service conducted by Prometric and approved by the American Council on Education (ACE). Minimum score requirements and credit awards are based on ACE recommendations.

DSST tests generally cover one semester of an introductory course, and are worth three semester credits. Bethel offers internet-based exams, which must be completed in two hours. A maximum of two tests may be taken during one testing session in a single day. Available DSST tests can be found on the DSST official website.

**For Bethel Students-No credit can be awarded for tests that overlap courses already on your transcript(s). Prior approval by a student success advisor is required if credit is to be awarded.

Testing Schedule

You will receive confirmation by email of your admission to the testing session approximately one week prior to your testing date. The confirmation letter will include the test date and directions to the testing site. You must be registered and must have received confirmation of admission to take the tests. Score reports will be sent to you and your school about 3–4 weeks after the test date.

Study Resources

• Go to www.getcollegecredit.com to locate current exam fact sheets and suggested study materials. Find these by clicking on the Test Preparation tab.
• Study materials can also be located at book stores or various libraries. Although not all recommended texts are available in every library, textbooks can be requested through the interlibrary loan system. You can also use an online preparation service, such as Instant Cert (www.InstantCert.com).
• You should also be prepared to purchase your own study material.

Fees

• Registration Fee: $40 per test
• Test Fee: $100 per test

Payment of the test fee must be made when the test is taken. No test can be returned for scoring unless this fee is paid. Payment may be made with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express only). Sorry, no personal checks or cash.

Each time you register for an exam, you will be charged a $40 registration fee, but will only be charged the $100 examination fee when you actually take the exam.

Cancellation Policy

Exam cancellations or lack of attendance at exams are considered non-refundable. If you need to change your exam date, please re-register.
