San Lazaro, Belize

Date March 14-21, 2026
Fundraising goal $38,000 (team of 18)

This team annually partners with Pastora Eriselda Moguel and her church, San Lazaro Pentecostal Church of God SILOE. The church focuses on meeting urgent, everyday needs in northern Belize while sharing the hope of the gospel.

Students will take part in practical, on-the-ground ministry such as distributing food and essential goods, offering prayer, and encouraging individuals and families in the community. The team will help address real challenges—throughout this, we will have the opportunity to help these families by providing basic life necessities that will allow them some peace of mind when it comes to their next meal or hygienic needs. Through this ministry we will also be able to have meaningful conversations with these families.

In addition to this, we will have the opportunity to invite the youth to VBS camp and a youth night, to grow deep and long-lasting relationships with these young people in the community.

Spiritually, many in the community have some experience with religion, but often carry discouraging or negative past experiences. The team will engage gently and relationally, offering encouragement, listening well, and helping rebuild trust in the local church’s witness.

This trip blends tangible service with meaningful spiritual care, supporting Pastora Moguel’s ongoing work to meet physical needs while pointing people to Christ.

Croc, Mexico

Date March 14-20, 2026
Fundraising goal $21,000 (team of 10)

Croc is a small town on the growing edge of Monterrey, Mexico where Youthfront has had a year-round ministry for over 20 years. Through this ministry’s afterschool program, local kids are given the opportunity to wonder at God’s world and know their place within God’s mission.

Partnering with Youthfront, our team will seek to participate in God’s mission of making the work right by engaging our hearts, heads, and hands. We will look critically at the realities of systemic injustice and poverty, crossing boundaries and encountering people and a community affected by it. In doing so, we will cultivate our imaginations around what it means to be a good neighbor and to live in the kingdom of God. Out of the realization that God calls us to fight together for justice, we will engage in service projects with the community, co-creating small yet meaningful change. So come to slow down. Walk the streets. Share a meal in someone’s home. Play soccer with the kids. Make a new friend. Transform your perspective. Taste heaven on earth.

Dominican Republic

Fundraising goal $39,000 (team of 16)

Vocare.  It’s Latin for “to call”. Bethel students on this team will serve alongside Students International in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Students will learn about God’s particular call on their life from Dominicans and North Americans who are carrying out that call in a cross-cultural Kingdom context. Ministry sites include education, health care, social work, sports ministry, media & communications, and appropriate technology (water filtration systems). (This is a unified team–including students in College of Arts and Sciences and second year students in the BUILD program.)

Other Important Information

Airline Info: Airfare is included in the cost of the trip on the following American Airlines

Housing and meals: Students International in Santiago, Dominican Republic hosts teams in a ministry base setting. The ministry base is a secure facility with housing, meals, team gatherings, and rendezvous with Dominican ministry leaders. Each day, students will go out with Students International staff to ministry sites for the day. The team will reunite in the late afternoon to debrief, have dinner, and enjoy an evening activity.

Cell Phone Policy: The DR bases have a “no electronics” policy. The goal is that team members would be able to digitally “disconnect” during the outreach and be fully present on-site. Cell phones and Apple watches are collected and stored in the office safe. Registered team leaders keep their cell phones for appropriate communication purposes. Communication with family at home can certainly be arranged in consultation with BUILD staff and Students International staff.

Excursion: The team will go on a day excursion to Cabarete Beach at the end of the week. This includes time for shopping, relaxing on the beach, and dinner at a restaurant of your choice. This meal is also included in the costs of the trip.

Jamaica (Disaster Response)

Date March 14-20, 2026
Fundraising goal $27,000 (team of 11)

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa tore across the island of Jamaica as a Category 5 storm and the third most powerful hurricane in Atlantic history. Melissa caused catastrophic damage upon making landfall in Jamaica, and was the strongest hurricane to make landfall on the island. A church leader with Praying Pelican Missions (our ministry partner) said the western third of the island "looks like a bomb went off". Many churches lost their buildings. Tens of thousands of people are without homes. And the body of Christ is present and responding already. The recovery will take years, but our 2026 Spring Break team will be there on the front edge of this clean-up and rebuild–extending service in the name of Jesus. The team will serve alongside a local church in the Montego Bay area on the northern coast of Jamaica. The team will be doing some form of “dirty work” as well as relational ministry the whole week. Depending on many dynamic factors, we will be doing debris clean-up, reframing homes, fixing roofs, and encouraging people with the love of Christ.
