What He Does at Bethel

David oversees of the approximately 140 student employees who work in Dining Services. These students work in every area of service including catering, Monson Dining Center, 3900 Grill, and Royal Grounds. Leading a team of this size would not be possible without the amazing student manager team. David considers it to be one of the best parts of his job to be able to work with this team. David works afternoons and evenings to be there when the students are working.

In His Free Time

David is married to Paula Walden, a watercolor artist who also graduated from Bethel College with a B.A. in Studio Art. They have 5 kids: Abigail, Caleb, Isaac, Micah, and Reuben. When not at Bethel, David enjoys being at home with family and playing with his kids. They live in Fridley. For recreation and continued personal growth David enjoys reading, teaching, woodworking, home remodeling projects, disc golf, bicycling, and hiking. 

Favorite Areas of Learning

Organizational leadership, dating and marriage relationships and Biblical history. As a lifetime learner, David basically collects books and someday hopes to have enough shelf space to gather them all in one place outside of boxes.
