Student emergency aid programs

Bethel University has established a benevolent fund and compiled a list of community organization referrals to assist students facing sudden financial loss, hardship, or challenges due to an emergency or crisis. The benevolent fund is available to currently enrolled students.

Funds are made possible through the generosity of donors and are limited. Successful applicants will receive a check sent to the address provided on the application. Students must submit an application for consideration, and decisions are made by the Student Emergency Funds Committee. Funds received will be reflected as estimated financial assistance on the student's financial aid offer. Recipients must be in good standing with Bethel. Documentation supporting the financial need or emergency is required for consideration.

Note: Emergency funds are not currently available for CAPS and Graduate students.

Special circumstances

If you are an undergraduate student and your family's income as reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) was significantly higher than income your family will receive while you're enrolled, you may want to submit a Reduced Income Appeal. If approved, you may become eligible for additional need-based aid, such as grants or loans, to help with expenses.
