And Bethel’s business department is one of the largest and most active departments at Bethel. In all our business majors, emphases, and minors, you’ll have numerous opportunities to apply what you’re learning, seek mentorship from industry professionals, participate in student groups, and gain experience. It’s all part of how we equip you with skills that transfer to any career.
And you’ll be able to get involved right away. Bethel’s size and vibrant community present opportunities for you to get involved from your first day on campus.
Internships
In the business department, 100% of students gain hands-on experience through at least one internship at a business or organization in the Twin Cities and beyond. You’ll apply classroom lessons in real-world settings and make a tangible impact—all to take a key step toward your career and build connections.
In recent years, our students have worked for:

BethelBiz Alumni Network
BethelBiz is a business alumni network committed to mentorship. More than a hundred student-mentor groups connect regularly, giving you the chance to connect with experienced professionals. You’ll build connections and gain insights as the program inspires excellence in the workplace and challenges you to become a faithful leader in your communities.
BBEA
BBEA is a student-led academic club where business students gain the training, skills, and networking opportunities important to success in the workplace.
Royals Investment Fund
You can serve various roles on our student-managed investment fund, including research analysis, client relations, operations and risk management, marketing, and more. An original $1.4 million invested on behalf of Thrivent Financial and private clients through the student-managed investment fund has grown to more than $2 million in assets.
Chartered Financial Analyst Challenge
Each year, a team competes against the top regional business programs each year by issuing a valuation of a Minnesota company.
Innovation Scholars
A team of undergraduate business and science students conduct collaborative research with a graduate MBA or MAOL student and present their findings to the research team at Mayo.
Experience with real organizations and clients
In many classes and extracurriculars, you’ll have the chance to perform case studies or craft marketing plans for real clients. Each year, students also participate in a service-learning experience preparing tax returns for individuals and families in need.
Women in Business
Twice a year, Department of Business students, faculty, staff, and alumni gather to explore the intersection of our faith, lives, and careers over breakfast, discussion, and a guest.
Business Advisory Council
Experienced professionals from a variety of business-related industries meet regularly with faculty to provide insight that helps shape classes, internships/placement opportunities, and more.
Opportunities to travel
Learn firsthand about the global economy by studying abroad. You’ll examine how businesses like advertising agencies, banks, accounting firms, manufacturing facilities, and multinational corporations operate across borders. The January session “Intro to International Business” trip typically visits five countries in Europe.
Get involved across campus
At Bethel, your opportunities aren’t limited to your major or department. You’ll be able to explore a wide range of interests, from worship to music to intramural sports and beyond.
