Department of Chemistry

At Bethel, we are dedicated to helping you make the most of the opportunities available to you.

This includes connecting you to scholarships to help you pay for your schooling. Below, you can explore scholarships available to incoming and current chemistry and biochemistry students. For information on scholarship deadlines, eligibility requirements, and how to apply, please visit our undergraduate scholarship page or the links below.

The Ralph T. and Karla Calais Holman Chemistry Scholarship

Each year, the Department of Chemistry awards the $4,000 Ralph and Karla Holman Scholarship to four incoming students who demonstrate exemplary potential as a chemistry or biochemistry major. This is a need-based scholarship—qualified applicants must demonstrate need, as defined by the Office of Financial Aid. If you’re excited to join our community and study chemistry or biochemistry at Bethel, apply for this renewable scholarship.

Edgren Scholars Program and student research

At Bethel, we offer several opportunities for students to conduct research and pursue scholarship opportunities collaboratively with professors. Each year, students participate in the Edgren Scholars Program. Named for Bethel’s founder, John Alexis Edgren, this program encourages student-faculty research collaboration during the summer break. Student partners receive a $5,000 stipend.
