Bethel University and its Department of Education have a long history of investing in and partnering with the Twin Cities community around us. If you're interested in working with us, please reach out for more information.
Formal Partnerships
Our formal partnerships include charter school authorizing and field placements and teaching internships with P–12 schools and districts.
Education Advisory Board
Partnerships also include the Education Department Advisory Board, made up of 40+ P–12 professionals (superintendents, principals, classroom teachers) who meet once or twice a year and provide:
- input around what is current in their schools and districts
- feedback on graduates that they may have hired
- guidance to us on needs for new emphases in our programs
- induction and mentoring needs
- bringing to their attention new priorities at Bethel
Partner organizations
The Bethel Education Department also partners with community organizations such as:
Twin Cities Teaching Collaborative (TC2)
Initially sponsored by the Bush Foundation, this partnership of teacher preparation programs works at developing clinical cluster sites, offer co-teaching training, professional development and established university liaisons at school sites.
Indigo Education
Workshops, seminars, and related training for special education teachers and general content area classroom teachers.
Minnesota Teen Challenge
MTC staff may earn a scholarship if they enroll in any of the Bethel degree programs, including education.
Bethel-Frogtown/Summit-University Community Partnership
Students in the Education Equity class are part of a broader partnership with the Frogtown and Summit-University neighborhoods. This connection shows support for the community through service, civic, social, and spiritual engagement. Students spend time volunteering with several organizations including: Central Community Services, Reading Partners, Hmong American Partnership, St. Paul City School, and the Hubbs Center.
