University accreditation

Bethel University has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1959. This regional accreditation, recognized by the United States Department of Education, demonstrates that the university meets quality educational standards.

Program accreditation

The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) governs the teacher licensing requirements for the state of Minnesota. The undergraduate education program at Bethel meets these requirements. Student teaching must be completed at Bethel. Specific requirements include the edTPA, MTLE, and the basic skills exams for a Tier 4 license. Learn more about our mission and vision.
