Reducing financial barriers so you can focus on what matters most: your education and your future.
You shouldn’t have to choose between affordability and a Christ-centered education. The Bethel Promise Grant is one way we’ll help you find both at Bethel. By choosing Bethel, you’ll grow in a community where you belong. And you’ll have the opportunity to merge your faith with your passions as you prepare to answer your calling, pursue your career, and make an impact.
What is the Bethel Promise Grant?
The Bethel Promise is a grant program that provides essential financial support to qualifying students to help cover tuition. To qualify, you must be a Minnesota resident with a cumulative 2.9 high school GPA, be eligible for the Minnesota State Grant, and your family’s gross adjusted income (AGI) must be below $90,000 a year.
If you’re eligible, it will reduce your tuition to:
- about $2,500 per year if you live on-campus
- about $4,500 per year if you live off-campus
How do you apply?
Once you apply to Bethel and submit your FAFSA, you’ll automatically be considered for the grant if you qualify.
Is the Bethel Promise Grant renewable?
The grant isn’t automatically renewed, but you can still qualify for it each year you attend Bethel by meeting a few important requirements. Your eligibility is reviewed annually based on your FAFSA, family income, and Bethel’s policies. To keep the grant, you’ll need to stay in good academic standing, show continued financial need, and work toward finishing your first bachelor’s degree on time. Bethel will support you every step of the way to help you succeed both academically and financially.
How does this compare to the North Star Promise program?
The Bethel Promise Grant mirrors the North Star Promise in structure, offering financial support to help students choose to attend Bethel. While the North Star Promise Scholarship offers a chance to attend public institutions, the Bethel Promise means you can attain a Christ-centered, private education with distinct opportunities. You’ll get the chance to thrive in a supportive Christian community, where your faith and education are intertwined. Choosing Bethel means more than just reducing costs—it means investing in your spiritual growth, academic potential, and calling to make a difference.
The Bethel Promise Grant is Bethel’s way of providing a similar benefit in the private education sector. While Bethel's grant does not fully cover tuition, it significantly reduces the cost for eligible students, aiming to make a private Christian education more accessible.
