About Mark

I joined the team at Bethel in September 2023 after serving as senior director of development for the Opus College of Business and the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas. My entire career has been in fundraising, and I've had the pleasure of working alongside donors and colleagues at Mayo Clinic, The Saint Paul Community Foundation, and the University of Minnesota.

What I enjoy about my job

I have a deep passion for helping alumni, donors, and friends discover the most meaningful things God is calling them to do for His Kingdom here at Bethel. I get to do this alongside an excellent team of advancement professionals who are excited to see God glorified through them for the students we serve.

In my free time

I still enjoy running despite slowing down with age but, fortunately, my skills in carpentry are increasing and I still have all my fingers! My wife Meg, kids Emma and Hazen, and I love to travel together. We've had many adventures on road trips gone awry, we've seen beautiful national parks, but our favorite places to return to are the Disney parks. The four of us love being kids together.

Guiding Scripture

Psalm 73:21-26 (ESV)

"When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you. Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strenghth of my heart and my portion forever."
