Orientation
International Programs
As soon as you get to Minnesota, we want to welcome you to Bethel and help you get settled.
One-On-One Orientation
To get set up at Bethel, all international students must request a one-on-one orientation meeting by emailing international-students@bethel.edu. Please bring your passport to this meeting. At the meeting, we will:
- Register you in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) database.
- Help you to understand federal regulations for maintaining legal status as an international student in the U.S.
- Discuss banking information, on/off-campus employment, health insurance, and information about a social security card and driver's license.
Mu Kappa Orientation
If you’re a student in the College of Arts & Sciences, you’ll be invited to a Mu Kappa orientation during Welcome Week. You’ll have the opportunity to meet other international students, as well as third-culture students (TCKs), missionary kids (MKs), and staff and faculty. Look for an email with orientation details.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for you to build strong friendships and connections in the Bethel community so that you are supported well as you transition to a new cultural setting.
Mu Kappa Student Club
Mu Kappa is a Bethel Student Government (BSG)-sponsored club for international students, third-culture kids (TCKs), and missionary kids (MKs). We recognize that these students often share common needs related to cultural adjustments and family living overseas. Mu Kappa provides an opportunity for international students, TCKs, and MKs to connect as a local family and receive mentoring and support from each other. Mu Kappa leaders meet regularly to plan fun club activities. We look forward to welcoming you to Mu Kappa!
