Why we use Class Climate Evaluations
We use Class Climate to evaluate courses across the university. Class Climate allows students to complete evaluations online using any device that can connect to the internet. It also provides feedback for instructors in an electronic form with user-friendly graphics and links to faculty development resources related to the different areas of evaluation.
All courses, with a few notable exceptions*, are evaluated with this survey. The process will operate as it does in CAPS/Sem/GS. Faculty do not need to choose a survey because with Class Climate there is only one. It will be sent to all currently enrolled students a week before the end of classes and will remain open until the last day of finals. All evaluated faculty will automatically receive evaluation reports two weeks after evaluations close, which is after grades are due.
*Courses not evaluated with Class Climate include:
- Applied Music (i.e., MUL courses)
- Courses with section identifiers in the 70’s (e.g., 70, 71, 72)
- Directed Study
- Field Experiences.
- Internships (e.g., BUS481, COM481)
- Music Ensembles (i.e., MUE courses)
- Practicums
- Research
- Science Labs (only Lectures are evaluated)
- Select Nursing Clinicals (check with the Nursing department for specific course numbers)
- Student Teaching
