Music Performance Endorsement

Major/Minor Image

Pair music performance endorsement with any major to receive academic credit for your participation in private music lessons, music ensembles, musical theatre, and opera productions.

Why should I study music performance?

With the music performance endorsement, you’ll grow your creative abilities beyond your academic discipline. These unique experiences will give you marketable skills that suit a variety of career fields in innovative ways. The endorsement also offers opportunities to perform with high-level ensembles and work with professional artist teachers and conductors. By graduation, you’ll be prepared to move into the next level of community performance ensembles and productions.

What can I do with this degree?

You’ll demonstrate a wide background of knowledge and experience as you enter your chosen field of study, especially compared to your colleagues and competitors in more analytical or data driven work forces. Four years of collegiate music lessons, ensembles, and productions will also greatly increase your chances of participation in professional and community theater productions in the future.

What skills will I develop?

Beyond professional music and theater performance skills, you’ll learn:

  • Discipline
  • Collaboration
