Cost of attendance expense categories

Tuition and Fees: Tuition and Student Activity Fees are determined annually.

Books/Supplies/Equipment: This figure is based on how much a typical full-time student would need to spend on books, paper, and other necessary supplies in order to complete an average credit load. We estimate this expense to be approximately $55/credit.

Housing and Food Allowance: The estimated amount for Housing and Food Allowance varies based on living arrangements (living on campus, off campus, or with parent). We estimate food expense to be approximately $612/month for those living off campus and $654/month for those living in on-campus housing. Housing expenses are estimated at $450/month for off-campus housing, $700/month for on-campus housing, and $0 for those living with parents.

Transportation: This figure is calculated at $80/month for students and takes into account the cost of on-campus parking or commuter fees.

Personal Expenses: This figure includes expenses the student may have for items like toiletries, laundry, clothing, etc.

Federal Loan Fees: This figure is paid to the federal agency for the processing of each loan you receive. It is a percentage of the loan amount, which will reduce the amount of money you receive to pay for your educational expenses. You are required to repay the full amount of the loan, including the fee.

Keep in mind

Your actual final costs may differ based on your program, coursework, and personal spending choices. If you do not receive financial aid, you can still use the cost of attendance figures to estimate your costs to attend school.

The total amount of financial aid you receive—including all scholarships, grants, and loans—cannot exceed your cost of attendance at Bethel for the aid year. Financial aid offers may be reduced for students whose total aid exceeds the cost of attendance. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for complete policy details.
