Interlibrary Loan

No library has everything. That’s why Bethel offers interlibrary loan (ILL)—so you can request books, articles, and more from libraries across the country and even internationally.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You request an item through Bethel’s LibSearch.
  2. We find another library that owns it.
  3. They send it to us, and we get it to you—for pickup or mail delivery, depending on your eligibility.

What you can do in LibSearch

  • Submit and track your requests in one place.
  • View and renew items you’ve checked out from Bethel and other libraries.
  • Download article and chapter PDFs—available for 60 days through your MyLibrary account.

How to request an item

You can request books, articles, and other items directly through LibSearch. Here's how:

  1. Search for your item in LibSearch.
  2. Sign in using your Bethel login if prompted. Look for the yellow alert bar or the sign-in link in the upper right.
  3. Choose a request option under the item listing.
  4. Submit the form that appears.
  5. That’s it! You’ll get an email when your item is ready.

Trouble finding your item?

  • Click the "Search beyond partner libraries" link above your search results to expand your options.
  • Still nothing? Use the "Still didn’t find what you need?" link to submit a custom request.
