Note to students: To use any of these opportunities to satisfy your degree program’s internship requirement, you must seek approval from the Director of Internship through the regular internship preparation process and work with the church or agency to meet Bethel’s internship requirements.

Chaplain John Steiner and I have the honor of serving 300 veterans at this 24/7 nursing care facility.

We have an ecumenical Christian worship service each Sunday at 10 a.m. We need help getting residents to and from our worship space (many residents are in wheelchairs and need pushed from their room to worship). We would also welcome Bethel students to help lead portions of the worship service while supported by myself or Chaplain John.

ESTHER Homes exists to come alongside pregnant women and single mothers experiencing homelessness or crisis by providing transitional housing and access to resources within a community of support. Families have their own room in a shared home for up to two years with access to live-in staff support while they acquire job training, further education, save money, grow as mothers, and work towards long-term housing. We believe relationships are the key to family stability and multi-generational impact.

ESTHER Homes was established in 2015 and operates housing programs in St. Paul and Eden Prairie. Full-time staff live and office out of each location, providing direct support to families and carrying out other responsibilities such as: direct social services, prenatal care coordination, program development and administration, community development, grant writing, and social media and fundraising.

We are a small, dynamic team with education in social work, nursing and midwifery, urban planning, and intercultural studies. We push each other to show up and be present rather than perfect.

We’re looking to create an intern team with broad skill sets, backgrounds, and perspectives. Ambitious self-starting undergraduates and graduate students with creativity, adaptability, and a learner mindset should apply.
