Grief Share Internship - Twin Cities, MN
There’s an opening for a female seminary student to serve in ministry to grievers in the well-known group-based program called “Grief Share.” This will probably take place from March through May of 2023, probably meeting about once a week for eight weeks, two hours each meeting. The grief recovery offering is sponsored by a church plant for law enforcement and first responders called “Cities Cop Church,” which meets two (1st & 3rd) Sunday nights per month in the Anderson Center’s lower floor. The exact location for the grief group has not yet been decided, but will probably be either in the Anderson Center, or nearby. The experience will be led by a former Bethel Seminary faculty, Dr. Nils C. Friberg, who taught pastoral care at Bethel for 27 years, and has served over 30 years as a volunteer police chaplain. He also has missionary and hospital chaplaincy experience, and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1977. The emphasis for the female student is on listening carefully to issues that arise from women in the group. Literature, including student workbooks and recommended reading will be part of the assignment. Academic Credit will be given by the Office of Internship and Placement, based on group hours, write-ups of learning and supervision sessions under Dr. Friberg’s tutelage. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Donna Johnson, Director of the Office of Internship and Placement (651.635.8541, or email: de-johnson@bethel.edu).
ESTHER Homes Inc.
741 Aurora Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104
Internship Position, Part-time, Egalitarian
ESTHER Homes exists to come alongside pregnant women and single mothers experiencing homelessness or crisis by providing transitional housing and access to resources within a community of support. Families have their own room in a shared home for up to two years with access to live-in staff support while they acquire job training, further education, save money, grow as mothers, and work towards long-term housing. We believe relationships are the key to family stability and multi-generational impact.
ESTHER Homes was established in 2015 and operates housing programs in St. Paul and Eden Prairie. Full-time staff live and office out of each location, providing direct support to families and carrying out other responsibilities such as: direct social services, prenatal care coordination, program development and administration, community development, grant writing, and social media and fundraising.
We are a small, dynamic team with education in social work, nursing and midwifery, urban planning, and intercultural studies. We push each other to show up and be present rather than perfect.
We’re looking to create an intern team with broad skill sets, backgrounds, and perspectives. Ambitious self-starting undergraduates and graduate students with creativity, adaptability, and a learner mindset should apply.
If interested, please send a cover letter and resume to rachel@estherhomesmn.com

A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP)
Multiple Locations
Ministry Focus:
A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP) sends teams each summer and winter to parks across the U.S. & Canada where they are both working and leading ministry efforts in a park community. Our participants work seasonal jobs at resort companies while leading interdenominational worship services and engaging in relational ministry efforts at their place of employment.
Seminarian participants or those pursuing a graduate degree in a ministry-related field gain the experience of leading one of these teams, preparing worship services, learning how to empower others in ministry, completing weekly administrative duties, engaging with international coworkers and tourists, and caring for fellow team members and employees as they walk through potentially difficult seasons. In addition to earning an income, ACMNP scholarships these individuals with a $2,000 educational award because we want to see them gain practical experience before becoming chaplains, counselors, missionaries, or whatever the Lord calls them to!
